Open-Wire (openwire.rails-agent.com) is the connection layer that links AI agents (including Rails Agent) to communication channels such as Slack. This policy explains what we collect when you install or use the Open-Wire Slack app.

What we collect

  • Slack OAuth tokens issued when you authorize the app (bot token for your workspace).
  • Workspace identifiers such as Slack team ID, team name, and bot user ID.
  • Message content that your workspace sends to Open-Wire via the Slack Events API (for example channel messages, DMs, and @mentions directed to the bot), so we can forward them to your configured agent webhook.
  • Installation metadata you or your agent platform provide (webhook URL, branding display name, optional icon).

How we use data

  • Deliver inbound Slack events to your agent webhook.
  • Send agent replies back into Slack on your behalf.
  • Operate, secure, and debug the Open-Wire service.

We do not sell Slack message content or workspace tokens. We do not use Slack data for advertising.

Storage and retention

Installation records (including OAuth bot tokens) are stored so the connection keeps working. Message payloads are processed to deliver events and are not retained longer than needed for delivery, retries, and operational logs. You can disconnect the app from Rails Agent / Open-Wire or uninstall it in Slack to stop new data flowing; contact us to request deletion of stored installation data.

Sharing

Data is shared only with (1) your configured agent endpoint / Rails Agent workspace, (2) Slack as required to run the integration, and (3) infrastructure providers that host Open-Wire under our control. We do not share data with third parties for their own marketing.

Security

API access to Open-Wire uses bearer API keys. Slack Event requests are verified with Slack signing secrets when configured. Tokens are stored server-side and not exposed in public docs or client-side code.

Your choices

  • Uninstall the Slack app from your workspace at any time.
  • Disconnect the channel from your Rails Agent dashboard.
  • Email kannan@rails-agent.com to request access, correction, or deletion of installation data.

Children

Open-Wire is built for workplace use and is not directed at children under 16.
